By now most folks have seen the marketing materials from the different Tag Management vendors in the industry on how much you will save by selecting their system. Some of the folks have never spent any real time actually trying to implement their system for an enterprise client, but I have and I have written a post on the Satellite blog talking about the true costs of tag management. Read the full post there!! http://www.searchdiscovery.com/blog/true-cost-tm/

Hi Rudi,
Thanks for the post. Though implementing a tag management system may take a ton of time there are some tools that help. Tag Inspector (www.taginspector.com) crawls websites and essentially “audits” them. It will tell you which page a tag is firing on, which pages are missing tags, allows for automatic scan scheduling, etc. It helps a ton when first implementing a Tag Management System as you can be sure you’ve removed all old tags and correctly implemented the new TMS. Should save developers and marketers both time and money. Hope this helps!
